Author’s Guidelines

The journal is published yearly and originals can be presented in Spanish, Catalonian, Galician, Portuguese, English, French and Italian.

Originals must be printed in DIN A4 paper on one side in double space with Time New Roman font size 12 and font size 10 for the references with justified margins and quotations in italics, not inverted commas. A digital copy on CD/DVD as a Word file (.doc or .docx format) must also be enclosed and sent to the address of the journal’s editor (redaccion@revistaalbahri.com) preferably by email.

The length of the original must not exceed 30 pages including bibliography references and illustrations.

The author’s name/s, affiliation, complete address, phone number and email address must be stated on a separate page to be included in the journal’s directory.

There must be an ‘abstract’ in Spanish or English not exceeding 150 words along with a short number of key words.

The illustrations must have an acceptable resolution on TIFF or JPEG format and include their corresponding text on the original.

The bibliography references must appear as footnotes and a complete alphabetical list of references must be placed at the end of the article. The suggested guidelines for those references should be the following:

Books: AUTHOR’S SURNAME/S, AUTHOR’S NAME, Title of the book, publisher, volume, place of edition, year of edition.

Example:
CHAPMAN, R., La formación de las sociedades complejas. El sureste de la Península Ibérica en el marco del Mediterráneo, ed. Crítica, Barcelona, 1991.

Journal articles: AUTHOR’S SURNAME/S, AUTHOR’S NAME, “Title of the article”, name of the journal, number/volume of the journal, year of edition, pages covered by the article.

Example:
TARRADELL, M., “Dos bronces de Lixus. Los grupos de Hércules y Anteoy Tesoe y el Minotauro”, Tamuda, 1, pp.59-81.

Unpublished Works, Thesis: AUTHOR’S SURNAME/S, AUTHOR’S NAME, Title of the work, unpublished doctoral thesis read at … University/ College, place of edition, year/s of edition, in press (in case it is in edition process).

Example:
RUIZ LÓPEZ, I. D., La circulación monetaria en el sur peninsular durante el período romano-republicano, Tesis Doctoral, Universidad de Granada, Granada, 2010.
Articles or chapters in books, congresses or any collective work: AUTHOR’S SURNAME/S, AUTHOR’S NAME, “Title of chapter or contribution”, in  Title of  the collective work, (edited or coordinated by…)  Title of volume, publisher, place of edition, year of edition, volumes and pages covered by the chapter or article.

Example:
BARCELÓ PERELLÓ, M., “El diseño de espacios irrigados en al-Andalus: un enunciado de principios generales”, en AAVV, El agua en zonas áridas: Arqueología e Historia, CARA BARRIONUEVO, L., (ed.), I Coloquio de Historia y medio físico, Instituto de Estudios Almerienses, Almería, 1989, pp.15-50.

Electronic works: AUTHOR’S SURNAME/S, AUTHOR’S NAME, Title of the work, [online, CD ROM, CD, etc.], place, publisher, year of release, <URL of the website>

Example:
GINER DE LOS RÍOS, F. Escritos sobre la universidad espñaola. Antología (1893-1904), [en línea], Alicante, Biblioteca Virtual Miguel de Cervantes, 2003, Dirección URL: <Ir aquí>.

Archive documents: NAME OF THE ARCHIVE (Abbreviation for the rest of the next citations), SECTION, series, file/box/book, folder/document, sheet/s.

Example:
ARCHIVO HISTÓRICO NACIONAL, Expedientes de Pruebas de Caballeros de la Orden de Alcántara, expediente 160.
En adelante AHN, Expedientes…exp. 160.
